BrandElsa's Story
I used to walk around going through the motions of life and on the outside everything seemed "perfect". I was the student who got good grades, had a close friend group, and participated in various after school activities. I didn't realize following that path was contributing to feelings of being lost, confused, and unhappy. Add that onto the already angsty environment of being a teenager and it felt as though I lost myself buried under a mountain of other people's expectations.
Soon after coming out at the age of seventeen I decided that it was time to take the reins of my life and become the person I wanted to be. I changed my major from science to the arts, forfeiting a $16,000 scholarship, experienced parental rejection, and began to create my dream life. I put on my first pair of stilts at nineteen and haven't come down since. I was authentic, joyful, and free beginning to emerge from the chrysalis. My life experiences haven't been the easiest to navigate but having come through the other side stronger, wiser, and more compassionate I know the lessons learned aren't meant for only me. I believe I was put on this earth and given these gifts to help others elevate their lives.
I want others like me, individuals ready for healing and growth, to feel empowered to step into the spotlight of their story—they deserve it!
